Steps of IdM project - from another aspect - based on HumanoIT methodology

The precise project leading is particularly important in an IdM project: the project will hang fire if the planning is not comprehensive and does not include every factors can be reviewed. Without a Customer's mindset and trust in the solution supplier  it is impossible.  The implementator of IdM must understand all of the company's processes, in order to ensure that the planned system matches to the expectations and operation of the company.

 

All of the solution provider know that the analysis must include the mapping of the users (resources, tools, activities, connections); the knowledge of the used technologies, the acceptance processes and workflows; and the examination of the rights management systems. This is the realization of the common thinking with the customer.

___The future business claims are those we must listen particularly. The IdM system should not serve the past, but should cover the future business needs. That's why it is needed to involve business consultants; think common with the customer in order to ensure the input of the plan is "future-proof".

Specification, system plan and the others...

Everything depends on them! A system planned perfectly based on excellent inputs, is flexible to extended, able to "live together" with the needs of the company. We know that besides the architecture planning, the processes, form interfaces, administration, password-handling, audit-functions, role management, working out data synchronization pertain to here also; and it is essential to plan the first uploading process. This phase involves the test process planning: in this moment, we know what kind of system we will have, so we should  prepare to test it.

Mindezek egyszerűsítik és hatékonyabbá teszik az üzemeltetést. Kiegészítő feladat lehet, hogy már itt, a tervezési fázisban készüljön az IdM rendszerhez üzletmenet-folytonossági terv.

Development and implementation of developers' system

___What less of IdM provider realized professionally are the integrated participation in the establishment of IdM system platform, the useful and efficient participation in the control of establishment: we can reach with these activities we can reach that the entire IdM, disassembled to the base infrastructure level (HW, base software, system software etc.) pertain to the same responsibility field. After it, a business decision don't need inside resource or a new partner to the realization.

 

 Így kiküszöbölhető az a gyakori probléma, hogy a különböző rendszerek szállítói egymást okolják az esetleges fennakadásokért.

Egy instabilnak tűnő IdM rendszer oka lehet az IdM rendszer alatti infrastruktúra és üzemeltetés nemmegfelelősége. Ha ez nem az üzleti igényekhez illesztett kialakítás a renszert használók élménye csökkenhet. Így sodorva veszélybe egy egyébként sikeres IdM komponens projektet.

Systems to be concerned

____The systems existing in the company should not "feel" that a new system - in this case the IdM - is connected to them. In this phase, the provider get the leading part: they must take the responsibility seeing that the connectors used by them are finised software or they fulfil the tasks with own-developed ones. They should always monitor the integrity of the entire system.

What we know: the establishment of test system generally happens in short time, and it must be absolutely same like developer's system. An ideal implementator can save serious cost and time for its customer, if the development and developer's system, moreover the ensuring of the test system operability remain in its responsibility during the project time.

___And what's the next? Solution supplier can ensure so that handover the operating documentation in order to ensure the test and developer's system function after the project closing. It is important that modifying the IdM system will not be a business risk due to the differences between developer's, test and live system.

As a part of the system support, the solution supplier's responsibility is to audit if these tasks are fulfilled from time to time.

The moment of the truth! At the handovering of developer's system and test environment the system can be fine-tuning based on the customer's feedback: after the setup prepared with meticulous care we should see a system that is able to operate in the live environment. It is particularly important to test the reporting, logging and audit functions. Preparing to the test of live system we should finalized the test plan this time.

After the good planning and preparation, the establishment of the live system is not the most difficult task indeed. But the support of the live system establishment is the key factor: we should prepare to provide against every risk factors, ensure the move of the test system's configuration with comprehensive knowledge.

___It is just one of those things missing: the comprehensive documentation, in order to be input of the operation, base of the change management.

If we planned well, we eliminated the risks of live system implementation. After the test operation, the customer gets an appropriate system. The precondition of the customer's satisfaction is that the management should experience traceable processes, identifiable responsible person, countable user-handling, high-quality IT services and lower operation cost by the IdM system established here.

The security staff can relieve: they are able to certify comprehensive compliance, get centralized management interface to user handling, and they are able to establish exact task- and responsibility delimination.

In short: everything will go orderly.
